🚀 THE BOAT

Chameleon is a Synergy 1000 — a high-performance racing yacht built for speed and precision. With a powerful squaretop mainsail, asymmetric spinnaker, and a hull that loves big breeze, she's a serious weapon on any race course.

Relaunched in 2021 after a full rebuild Chameleon is fully offshore capable race yacht. Having successfully completed 2 Pac Cups to date the boat is fully equipped and ready for more adventures.

We race competitively in our local series and attend regattas throughout the season. As our experience grows it is our goal to move up to larger international events. If you want to sail fast and learn along side a committed racing team, this is the boat for you.

Helm ⚓
Secondary helm — experience with performance yachts essential
Navigator ⚓
Navigator — offshore and coastal weather routing, course optimization, and position tracking.
Main
Mainsail trimmer — responsible for power and boat speed upwind and down
Pit
Pit crew — running the halyards, kite drops and control lines
Trim
Headsail & kite trim — working with the helm to maximise VMG
Mast
Mast — hoists, drops, and bow work during manoeuvres
Bow ⚓
Bowman — spinnaker sets and drops, forward deck work
Stays
Split back stays — managing rig tension through tacks and gybes, gusts and lulls
Roam ⚓
Floaters — tactical weight placement, grinders, general deck work

📅 WHAT TO EXPECT

We race regulariy throughout the year, primarily on weekends. Practice sessions are scheduled regularly to work on manoeuvres and boat speed. We're serious about racing but we also know how to have a good time on the boat and back at the dock.

All experience levels considered — attitude and commitment matter more than a CV. We'll teach you what you need to know if you're keen and reliable.
